Misrata celebrated the New Year with the opening of a new maternity and children’s hospital. Loclated on the city’s the Airport Road, "The Libyan Emirati Hope Maternity, Children and Fertility Hospital”, is a private project, funded by both Emirati and local investors.
It is equipped with the following:
- 4-D ultrasound imagery rquipment, used in obstetric ultrasonography to give views of foetuses in the womb;
- A mobile unit for home birth delivery.
- Fertility Centre equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.
- A Genetic Diagnosis, which allows profiling of embryos prior to implantation, the first of its kind in the Arab world.
