An independent congressman from Misrata, Sallahiddeen Omar Beshr Badi has asked to be allowed to resign from the GNC, in part because he deplores the members’ decision to extend the life of the GNC beyond February 2014. In his hand-written resignation, Badi also cited personal reasons for his decision.
