The results of the local elections in Misrata were announced late Tuesday night.

Voting took place on Monday, 20 February. According to officials there was a 57 percent turnout of the 100,000 registered electors.  There were 245 candidates contesting 28 council seats and the first-past-the-post system was used to decide the winners.
