Libya's Tripoli based Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohamed Al Hwej, signed with his Tunisian counterpart, Samir Obaid, several trade cooperation memorandums of understanding in Tripoli last Saturday (7 December). The MoU’s were on:
- The Libya Tunisia Continental Land Corridor project towards sub-Saharan African countries
- Consumer protection and awareness
- Executive Programmes related to organising and participating in exhibitions and salons for 2025
- Free Trade and Logistics Zones 2025-2026
Activating current agreements Obaid stressed that his country seeks to develop and activate the agreements concluded between the two countries in a way that enhances the volume of bilateral trade and provides greater opportunities for establishing partnerships between traders and industrialists in the two countries.
Tripartite summit meetings The two sides agreed to hold a meeting between the ministers of economy and trade of Libya, Tunisia and Algeria to prepare for the tripartite summit meetings.
