Libya’s National Comprehensive Health Care Programme and the Health Number System were launched at a ceremony in Tripoli today organized by the National Centre for Health System Reform (NCHSR) under the supervision of the Ministry of Health.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Hospital Affairs, Saad Eddin Abdel Wakil, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Technical Affairs and Diwan, Samir Koko, attended the ceremony.
The NCHSR Director General, Adel Al-Deeb, gave a presentation on the Comprehensive Health Care project that began with the first applied model of digital transformation within the Abu Sleem municipality.
Health Number System During the presentation, the Director General Al-Deeb explained the work of the Health Number System, which he said provides a comprehensive approach to health care by providing all means of comfort to the patient while providing the highest quality services by implementing the frequency and referral programme.
Comprehensive Health Care System Al-Deeb explained that the Comprehensive Health Care project in health centers focuses on diagnosing the condition, providing treatment through a specialized family doctor, following up on cases of chronic, psychological, and other diseases, referring cases that need therapeutic medical service that is not available at the service centre, and communicating and following up on the case with the party to whom the case was referred.
The Comprehensive Health Care project, he added, aims to improve the health system and provide an advanced and integrated health system that enhances the health of the individual and society and provides safe and comprehensive preventive, curative and rehabilitative health services with fairness, quality and efficiency.
A strategic option The NCHSR Director General said the Comprehensive Health Care project is a strategic option for the Ministry of Health to achieve digital transformation in the field of health care, implement the electronic health file and family health, activate the referral system from primary health care centers to hospitals. It also focused more on supporting primary health care programmes that provide vaccination and reproductive health services, provides medications for chronic diseases, community health awareness, school health, and mental health, in order to achieve the goals of sustainable development.
