Tripoli Eye Hospital, Libya’s largest eye hospital, announced on Sunday its performance statistics for 2022.
It reported that it had that it had performed nearly 9,000 surgical operations last year, providing all types of eye surgeries, including cornea and retina, which were not performed in the public sector in the past.
Approximately 180,000 cases were received and examined in the ambulance and outpatient clinics and more than 44,000 cases were received in the diagnostic devices department, with all diagnostic devices present.
Tripoli Eye Hospital also reported that more than 38,000 cases were received in medical laboratories, with all medical tests provided, without the need for patients to perform any tests outside the hospital.
Patients were also not required to bring any medicine or supplies for operations, with the hospital being able to take care of everything related to the patient. This contrasts with previous years across most public hospitals where patients often had to bring in medical supplies etc.
