UNDP Libya announced that within the context of the Stabilization Facility for Libya (SFL) work, the Second Ring Road project was handed over yesterday to the contractor to provide up to 600 water drainage covers which would help in responding to the highway blockage by rainfall in the winter.
The project covers 27 Km and will include the installation of 45 signboards to replace the damaged ones. The SFL is implemented by UNDP Libya and supported by 13 international partners.

The UNDP says the Stabilization Facility for Libya aims to strengthen the legitimate and internationally recognized state authorities and foster national unity.
It does this by creating opportunities for peaceful reconciliation locally through community conflict monitoring and reduction, inclusive municipal planning, and practical improvements in basic services in each city where it works.
As the SFL helps the Government to improve citizens’ lives, and to connect more positively with local authorities, it creates the opportunity for Government to demonstrate its value to citizens, and to provide a “peace dividend” as conflict reduces and local conditions improve.
