London, 19 August 2020:

Over 62,000 tons of bulk and bagged cement have unloaded, are being unloaded or on ships anchored off Benghazi, Tripoli and Khoms ports, the Libyan Ports Authority reports.

Over three weeks, Tripoli port expects to unload 19,467 tons of bulk cement and 8,106 tons of bagged cement. Meanwhile, Khoms port expects to unload 14,399 tons of bagged cement and 14,700 of bulk cement from docked and anchored ships.

Last week 6,000 tons of cement unloaded at Benghazi port.

The steadily increasing cement unloading at Libya's ports is seen as evidence of the beginnings of the resumption of construction activity after the end of the 14 month war launched by Khalifa Hafter on Tripoli in April 2019.
