Benghazi, 29 August 2016:

The municipality in the Cyrenaican oasis town of Jakharra, 400 kilometres south of Benghazi, has re-established a local radio station after a break of four years.

It was re-launched today at a ceremony attended by local officials and dignitaries. It is scheduled to broadcast for 12 hours daily, with news and programmes aimed at the local audience.

A Jakharra FM station was launched after the revolution but survived for no more than a year.
