Benghazi, 24 April 2014:

Two men and three women were killed and another seriously injured in Benghazi yesterday in what security sources believe was a revenge attack.

The injured woman is said to be in a critical condition in a Benghazi hospital.

The five bodies, all of whom were members of the same family, were found in a block of flats on Benghazi's Airport Road yesterday afternoon, spokesman for Benghazi Joint Security Room Ibrahim Al-Sharaa told the Libya Herald.

Sharaa said the attack appeared to have been a criminal act motivated by a family feud. One of the dead, Sajra Bubaker Al-Qaddafi, 70, had been a member of a revolutionary committee under the former regime, he said, but added that there were no indications that this was a factor in the killings.

An investigation into the attack has been launched.
