Benghazi, 25 April 2014:

A large explosion in Benghazi's Fuwayhat district in the early hours of this morning targeted the car of a local police officer, damaging several other vehicles and nearby buildings.

Benghazi Joint Security Room spokesperson Ibrahim Al-Sharaa told the Libya Herald that the blast occurred at 2 am. He said it was caused by a bomb placed under the police officer's car, who has not been named for security reasons.

No casualties were reported as a result of the explosion, Sharaa said.
