Tripoli, 14 October 2013:
Libyan footballer Mohamed Al-Maghrabi, who plays for both Tripoli’s Al-Ahly Club and the Libyan National Team, was shot and wounded in his right arm today.
The reason for the attack, by unknown gunmen, is not yet clear. There is concern, however, that Al-Ahly is being deliberately targeted, after coach Hossam Al-Badri was shot at on Saturday. He escaped the attack unhurt.
A posting on the club’s official Facebook page said that several players had been threatened, although the nature of these threats was not disclosed.
