Tripoli, 2 July 2013:

US parcels company FedEx has teamed up with Libyan company Takween to re-launch its international services here.

At the outbreak of the revolution, FedEx suspended its operations which began in 2005 and  were run with a different local partner.

“Libya has great growth potential as the economy stabilises in the post-revolution era,” David Ross, a FedEx senior vice-president told the Libya Herald,“As a big contributor to international trade, FedEx will significantly support Libya and its business community, enhancing flexibility and speed to market.”

His colleague, Natali Fahmi added: “We are expecting parcels will come out and into Libya from the Middle East, the US and Europe particularly Italy.”
