Tripoli, 27 January 2013:
The Ras Jedir border crossing between Libya and Tunisia is once again open after talks between the authorities on both sides. Traffic is now flowing in both directions.
The meeting today, Sunday, held at the Ras Jedir Border Directorate, was attended by the Libyan Consul-General in Sfax, senior Libyan border officials, civic leaders and elders and from Tunisia, the mayor of Medenine, a representative of the Nahda party, border officials and civic groups. The Libyan news agency LANA reported that the talks had been organised by human rights activists.
