On the invitation of Libyan women, such as the prominent women activist and role model Dr Farida al-Alagi, and Libyan civil society organisations, the director of Gender Concerns International, Sabra Bano, recently conducted an assessment mission to Libya.
The assessment mission by Gender Concerns International, a leading international NGO monitoring women’s issues, was organised in order to meet with local women and civil society organisations and to prepare for the up-coming gender election monitoring mission in Libya.
Gender Concerns will be in Libya to monitor the participation and inclusiveness of Libyan women in the country's politics and forthcoming elections. www.genderconcerns.org
